The biggest disconnect is the story trying(?) to invoke some Disney-esque stylization but the characters look more like fauxanime french cartoons than anything. Their eyes are huge and glossy, which is actually not what Disney humans ever looked like. The voice acting for Guinevere being more like Barbie or female anime dubs than Disney princesses also threw me off. Finally watched it and enjoyed it much more than I expected, I was unsure at first based on initial promo material but it was pretty neat overall. The one thing they should work on though is the dialogue, I was hoping it'd be sharper considering this is a pretty serious show but the way they talk feels too blunt and more on the 'young adult' side- which clashes with the mature setting.

I absolutely adore Frankie, she's a great character in this and by far the most engaging. Andi on the other hand is pretty whatever, which can be fixed in future episodes obviously, but as of now Frankie could've been just fine as the solo protag of the series. The old man sucked though which was kind of disappointing.
Overall I'm pleasantly surprised and will probably follow this. Great music in this scene BTW.

It introduced the core cast, the setting and the central themes of the story while also showing us the primary antagonistic forces that will drive the conflict.

I will say, in this respect it's more of an episode 1 than a pilot episode (usually pilot episodes try to cram more in and tell a compressed version of the intended narrative for the series, but this one doesn't do that, so it flows more slowly like a first episode).

They are written in a very immature style, but hopefully it develops as they keep making the series. Man, Epcot was the only time I ever visited a Disney park and the rides were great but the cost and the lines and the crowded yelling people and screaming kids were just an absolutely miserable experience.
