This show is often said to be "Robot Chicken for kids", and I feel like that’s also true in the sense that it’s very hit or miss, and it misses more than it hits, many of these skits are just "hahaha pop culture reference" or Dorkly tier humor

They had the guts to reference the “Smurfs is Soviet Propaganda” theory

The big failure of the show is how dated is it with specifically 2010s pop culture. Robot Chicken at least had media from all decades.

Stop conflating this with the live action sketch show which you used the name of
The animated one was simply called MAD

This is honestly the best mad skit. Also the animation for some of these scenes is weirdly nice.

I loved MAD when I was a kid, I suppose it hasn't aged the best but there's still funny sketches
I still think of that sasquash sketch when I see a periodic table

That's because one of the creators for TTG was a director and animator for MAD.

Seth Green's voice gets grating quickly, he makes no effort at having range

Dunno what MADtv has to do with /co/, but this is the best sketch they did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwrHjIkSbdQ
The skits with Will Sasso as Steven Seagal were also God tier.

On the topic of MAD, they actually didn't create the Alfred E Neuman design
The image of this empty headed gap toothed fuckhead predates the magazine by at least half a century and was commonly used for ads, postcards, and shit like picrel
IIRC nobody actually knows who made it, but this guy who made one of the earliest known versions sued EC, but the courts ruled that since he had let so many other people use it and I think didn't publish with a notice he actually lost
That is of course assuming he was the original creator

If MAD came out in 2000 and instead had 90s and early 2000s pop culture, I guarantee they would do skit about Garfield and Friends, but with Garfield interacting with the cast of Friends, the sitcom.

I thought this was related to President Taft (which was entirely possible considering how old the image is) but it appears it's related to his son Robert A. Taft, possibly from his attempts at getting the Republican nomination in 1948 and 52
There are older examples, albeit much more primative like this one from 1894
