>a weird hand movement he does in front of her eyes
We’ve talked about this before, and I’m going to have trouble wording myself in a satisfying way, but I get very, *very* fixated on strange, arcane inductions. Long-forgotten ultra-powerful hypnosis techniques that are hinted at by smug smirks and impenetrable body movements. Vriska expected him to just wave a pendulum in front of her eyes and say something stupid that she could ignore (Ugh, really? So corny!) without any concern about sleep, but he’s suddenly sashaying his hips, interlocking his fingers above his head, stretching gleefully, and it doesn’t really seem too hard to parse at first, but the way his increasingly fluid motions become harder and harder to really register in the same way she initially checked out his lithe muscles and beautiful makeup, and now he’s weaving his hands in the air, tracing gorgeous patterns with his splayed fingers that she couldn’t describe to you if she tried, and, in all honesty, she could barely even process them while he was doing them, because by this point she’s lilting on her feet, barely even noticing the fact that she was combatting the urge of her eyes to roll back like boulders pushed down an underground tunnel, her mouth subtly floating open, and she’s just thinking, what the hell? This is so stupid. Vaudeville pick-me hypnosis nonsense from an adventure comic. It doesn’t matter that he’s getting closer and closer, entire upper body swinging and drifting, just like her eyes, drifting, from point of focus to point of focus on moves she *thinks* she should have seen in any high-level hypnosis class she’s spectated, but that, for some reason, she can’t recognize a single one of. Massaging the deepest parts of her mind, these gestures are, and for goodness’ sake, she’s so…*so* sleepy…she…she must…sleep?
Must…sleep…
