Prediction Anon here. One thing I haven't seen discussed much about the sneak peek is that it doesn't give any clue toward what it is about the episode that will piss people off. The idea of a beach episode itself is unlikely to be controversial. You might be aware that beach episodes in anime are other media are often filler, but this episode is unlikely to be filler that doesn't advance the plot for multiple reasons. The closest it could come to that is not seeming to advance the plot until the way it did becomes obvious in retrospect.

So how will it piss people off, then? For my money, there are still two strong possibilites. The most likely is that there will be some kind of narrative shenanigans that will make it less satisfying or comprehensible, such as body swaps or time loops. The slightly less likely possibility is that something potentially disappointing about the nature of the characters or the circus, such as that they're copies of consciousness.

However, if there was a reveal like that, it probably wouldn't be explicit and conclusive. Both Goose and Lizzy have described this episode as raising questions rather than answering them.

You can combine all of this into one theory: The episode will mess with narrative reality, in a way that's only possible because of the nature of the circus, and will make more sense in retrospect.

As an additional, free bingo space prediction, the episode still isn't going to be primarily about "plot." Character development will continue in the midst of, or in spite of, whatever weird shit happens.

So let's bring this back to the reveal that it will involve a f***ing beach party. The beach party is a red herring. It will happen, obviously, and the entire episode might even stay on the beach (though I would give slightly better odds it doesn't). But even so, the beach party won't be what the episode is really "about."

Ragatha shouldn't get wet. But that's not stopping her.
