Time traveler here, the Minecraft movie does surprisingly bad and is basically considered the turning point in the relevance of the franchise. The Simpsons Movie does even worse and gets panned really hard with reviews especially panning the voice performances, and it makes Fox finally decide to stop renewing the series, which ends in 2029 as per its last contract.

You guys aren't ready for the Simpsons final episode by the way, it's actually good for reasons that almost nobody was expecting, but I won't spoil any more than that.

I don’t think anyone cares about a Simpsons movie anymore. Minecraft I can see doing well for memes again. The only way I see the simpsons movie doing well is if people go all out on meme culture and dress up the character's like Moe and Flanders going to the movie and reaction in character like Ned prays and shouts dear lord no during the movie. Moe sitting down alone being depressed that he went to the movies alone. Oh and Krusty with a note pad stealing any and all jokes. Props to anyone that goes as Barney and gets shitfaced in the theather.
