Here's the highlights:
Hussie starts melting down about the trolls taking over the comic.
The future queen, exiled, asks Terezi to exile Jack.
The trolls are struggling with their session. Karkat trolls himself several times in an attempt to prepare for the mission with Jack to exile the queen of Derse. Bonus highlight: he gets to call Vriska a fag.
The exiled queen asks Vriska to steal her ring before Jack gets his hands on it, and then destroy it.
It's revealed how Terezi was blinded. By Vriska, of course. Aradia shows up to brutally murder Vriska in revenge. Sollux and Eridan also get into conflict.
But all that pales in comparison to the reveal Aradia makes at the end. (This is also the first reference to 'an alpha timeline' and a 'doomed timeline'.) Despite all their struggles, the trolls defeat the king of Derse and win (highlander style) the Ultimate Prize: a universe of their own making. Just before they take possession of it, a rift in another session disrupts theirs and prevents them from finishing the session.
The rift Jade is accused of making.
Surprise! The universe the trolls made but couldn't take possession of contains the kids' Earth. Without Rose's guide, the Earth would not have existed. Time travel!
Now the trolls are hiding on an asteroid, where they have all the time in the universe to harrass the kids responsible for stranding them there.

the alphas are pretty bad, granted. but the problems of homestuck began much earlier. all the problems with the alpha kids are the same problems with the trolls. character bloat, focus on dumb fucking romance nonsense, interrupting the narrative at a crucial moment to set up new characters, killing all momentum in the story.
the trolls are everything the alpha kids were but worse. you can get rid of most of them and lose basically nothing of value in the story.
plus they suck in the beta kids, the actually interesting characters in the story, in their dogshit nonsense.

So this is the current state of Beyond Canon... talk about a huge cast, huh? This doesn't even include Nepeta and the fanon-tinum or the sprites.
I'm trying to figure out where the plot is going. I'm guessing that the meat ship (and the candy ship) fail to stop Dirk from triggering the Delta session, so they'll take the roles of either the exiles guiding the players with prompts or as the guardians farming out grist (like the beta kids' guardians). There's also going to be like, a third group of adults that forms which includes the candy adults that's solely dedicated to confronting Dirk. I'm expecting some sequel to Bec Noir that results in most of the cast being slaughtered.
The fanon-tinum stuff is gonna serve as Beyond Canon's bittersweet ending... "oh no, our favorite character Candy Jane died, but with the power of 'fanon' she'll live forever!"

Honestly the one thing I've never criticised HS^2 and Beyond Canon for is the art. To me it's always looked clean and crisp with most panels having everyone in Hero Mode which I always liked the most in HS.
My complaints have always been with the writing. If they got rid of the dogshit writers and had a competent team that doesn't utterly hate the thing and fandom of the thing they're writing for paired up with the art team and receiving Hussie's input I would gladly recommend people continue to read ALL of Homestuck.

Hussie was always antagonistic towards the audience but murderstuck was bound to happen. 12 trolls was too much, and he needed to thin the herd to the ones who actually mattered if they were going to stay in the story at all.
