I've dabbled in video editing and that alone is incredibly time-consuming, filmmaking of any kind is a lot more time-consuming than you think, animation, even 3D animation, is also very time-consuming.

I think Disney should buy Glitch at this point. The company is way in over it's head with the sheer amount of projects they have and Disney would benefit by finally bringing in the audience that left them while providing the money and exposure only a big Hollywood studio could provide. As much as I like Glitch, it will never be able to sell films to theaters be featured in theme parks or stay around after the founders ultimately leave the studio. Disney could provide all that and more.

When people talk about the benefits of working for a studio like glitch, I don't think it's really in the deadlines or the money management. Afaik Glitch doesn't actually give the artist a bunch of money for them to do what they want with - Glitch has its own staff and production studios that the artist is expected to make use of. And I don't know whether Glitch has contracts with deadlines or not, but when the creator only has to do scripts, storyboards, and supervision - i.e. the fun parts - failure for them to meet their obligations probably isn't as likely.

But the real benefits of the arrangement is the creative control. Glitch creators, as I understand it, are allowed to make exactly what they want with no executive interference in the content or things like the series length. That is a good thing.

I imagine the deadlines aren't as strict. They can simply just move episodes a few weeks or a month as they release them one at a time because they aren't reliant on a live TV schedule. The thing with the indie shows is that they are uniquely complex and more ambitious than the network series so some take longer than others. Most other studios wouldn't greenlight any of these series because of that and obvious budget reasons. They have to be more assembly to be made on time. It makes me surprised Hazbin Hotel or Smiling Friends got greenlit by Amazon and [as] simply for how many unique characters and set pieces are in each episode.
