Isn't Sonic world-famous in universe? I feel like if he actually had living parents, even if he was put up for adoption, if one of them were a fucking blue hedgehog and the other had super speed, somebody would have put 2 and 2 together and they'd have been outed and invariably taken hostage at some point.

Also, let's be real, if anyone was abandoned, it was the 2-tailed freak.

Looking back, I kind of like how Archie handled it, at least in its.layer years. Sonic's parents are around, Sonic sees them sometimes but not often because he's busy doing his thing. They're not relevant and that's fine, they're just normal people living in their little house, and also Sonic's dad is a robot.
