Main difference is the level of animation is a world apart, which makes it easier to take it seriously even if the concept of cavemen beating up dinosaurs is just as retarded as superhero Nazis. I mean just watch the scene where shows Spear's dad fighting to the death. You FEEL the impact and brutality in each movement, nothing in Invincible even comes close to that one 3 minute scene, which is actually kinda crazy considering AS notoriously runs it's ship on a shoestring budget compared to the resources Amazon has.
As far as the boys go, Primal tells its story through its action, Boys violence is just dressing, bloodshed without substance, and with each season they have to up the ante by getting more grotesque, which either desensitizes people or just turns their stomach and makes them wanna turn off the tv. Genndy may be a garbage writer, but he fucking knows how to direct an action scene and build ambiance.
