I'd actually like to see this. Pre-teen kid gets adopted, finds out Bruce is Batman, rejects the mantle of Robin for whatever reason (cowardice, wants to pursue something else), and we see how this relationship goes. Will Bruce sacrifice part of his time as Batman to actually be a father? Will the kid take the mantle of Robin just to be close to Bruce (while hurting themselves physically and mentally)?
Although I fear this couldn't be done in today's industry. The kid would be some ACAB Antifa stand-in, clamoring that Batman and Bruce are fascist etc.

The run of DC animated movies is something I find bewildering and frustrating in equal measure. There are a bunch of EXCEPTIONAL movies there, like dark knight returns and flashpoint paradox, but they never pushed them or advertised them so they never went very far. At the same time, they spent literally billions of dollars churning out DCU movies that were utter dogshit and never seemed to learn the lesson.
ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CONVERT THE ANIMATED MOVIES TO LIVE ACTION
I simply cannot be not mad, the movie universe they wanted to make work so badly was already right there for the taking but they're too fucking stupid to realise it.
Now the last 4-5 years they seem to have completely abandoned the development setup that brought us those movies (which itself descended from Bruce Timm's work) and it's this weird 3D cel-shaded woke bullshit and AAHHHHHH I'M SO MAD
