You know how it said Vergil got robbed while he was drunk in his Death Battle against Sephiroth? Well, DMC1 novel, there's this character, Gilver, and the twist was when his bandages come off he looks Dante and Gilver being an anagram of Vergil. DMC3 came, and it made the novel non canon, not to mention, Vergil wouldn't use a gun like Gilver did.. DMC5 has a novel called before the nightmare, which put a lot of the DMC1 novel back into canon, but made the events take place earlier before DMC3. Gilver instead of directly being Vergil, is a demon prototype for the Angelos created by Mundus made from test data of Dante and Vergil's skills. Basically, like how Mundus made a demon that looks like Dante's mother called Trish, Gilver is just liker her, but for Dante and Vergil. Presumable, Vergil himself fought some Dante clones offscreen.

So, long story short, Vergil never got robbed while drunk. It was a clone.

Ifrit *is* Clive. There's no separate entity thing at work. At the start, Clive when hit by a horrible traumatic event becomes Ifrit for the first time and loses control and attacks and seemingly kills Phoenix (Joshua, his younger brother) and Clive spends a good bit of the early story thinking Ifrit was someone else without knowing he did it himself.

I wonder if their gonna give Clive Leviathan and Ultima. In the original game, Leviiathan was hinted at, but you don't see it until the DLC (which takes place before the final battle). After you get Leviathan, Ultima is impresed, so he boosts Clive even further as a vessel and gives him his own power. Getting these two extra powers doesn't change the ending or fight against Ultima at all.

Dante's best feat is I guess the Savior Punch which was like a 100 ft tall stone statue.

Clive's speed feats are shit like dodging explicit light based attacks but if you don't like that he flies into the atmosphere in seconds. Dante I think still uses the raindrop feat as his best. Both of them can do the "can statue enemies they fight normally" thing with Zantetsuken and Quicksilver.

Quicksilver is an outright time slow, Zantetsuken has no such statements but is still giga fast (also I forgot but Clive has Dancing Steel which does the same thing). Quicksilver may be superior, but if Clive ends up faster in base it may not matter.

Also if you give Clive and Dante everything, Dante gets the Bangle of Time for timestop (which does not work on bosses, so may not on Clive) and Clive gets his ez mode game accessories which slow time before enemies hit him. Both are probably noncanon though.
