Again they just kind of coincidentally resolved her issue on the way to actually meet her, complete luck.

Charlie actually does genuinely succeed, but in an unintended way and by making himself the target of Satan's wrath.

Pim actually wasn't on a bad path, the complication was from an intervening third party. Still kind of hard to give him points when things just kind of line up nicely at the end.

I mean Pim sets him on the path to reaching inner peace through his family suggestion, so that's technically a point for "Smiling Friends actually helping".
I mean they've never failed a job, but you could count the number of times something they do or suggest actually results in a success without some lucky coincidence on a single hand.
