There's honestly something really sad about reading all these comments saying that the show is "too serious" or isn't funny. Like the idea that a murdering dictator frog suddenly having a realistic conversation with a green painted man and spiritual enlightenment isn't supposed to be inherently comedic, because... I dunno people only think the show is funny if it's doing a shouting scene, and they can't tell otherwise? It's just really strange how people don't get the style. If you've seen Zach Hadel's stuff for just a few minutes, it's really obvious that he likes bizarre and awkward entertainment, especially when it's alienating and unexpected. I think my expectations are just too high. Season 2 was a dip in quality for me, or at least I didn’t laugh as much in comparison. Didn’t help they basically started season 2 with the best episode of the entire series followed by one of the worst episodes.

I thought the Silly Samuel episode was pretty weak (especially the ending with him being hailed as a profit). I did like the B plot though. The Mr. Frog episode got me laughing way more. The DMT fly asking for computer help was an okay joke but I felt like it was a little bit forced

Mr. Frog feels like a blatant parody of absurd cartoons with goofy looking characters tackling serious topics. Like Normal Words and the lockbox gun episode of Family Guy. They made him as irredeemably evil as possible, and still let him have a happy ending with a dramatic backstory across 3 seasons. I can't see any other interpretation.

My guess is next season he's seen in the background, and gets picked off by an Eagle or something as a gag.

I liked Silly Samuel having his arm grabbed instead of his hand. Just makes it funny that he was hurt and sounds legitimately angry. I mean in the previous scene his birdclock whacked a doctor in the eye and he felt nothing for it. Even smiled wickedly as he was guided out by Charlie. So watching him get a little recompense for being a jerk was kinda neat despite him having a serious condition.
