Just get a bit of practice in with some casual dates as you are right now. Think of it like this, think of the stupidest most fucked up no life gangbanger crackhead piece of shit with no future. That guy? He can get pussy, he can talk to women. Why? He's himself and projects confidence. He's not putting on an act, he's just a fucking retard who's too dumb to doubt himself. So if someone like that can do it, you can do it right now too. All you have to do, and do this for yourself, is learn how to be confident. If you're weird or into weird shit, just own it without feeling like you got to whisper and murmur about it, be comfortable with who you are and people will pick up on it. If you can learn to be confident right now when you're at a point thats a little lower in your mind, then imagine how confident you'll be when you've practiced and now you have a better job, you've taken better care of your body, you've saved some money and achieved some milestones in your life. All that stuff comes later, but you gotta build it on a foundation of confidence that communicates to yourself, and ergo to others "I can do things I set my mind to, I'm not ashamed of what I like or what I want to do, and I'm inviting people to join me, or not, either way I'm going to be great".
Also if you just want an easy conversational icebreaker, just ask her about her life. You'd be surprised how much people open up about themselves when another person is actually, you know, willing to listen and be interested in mundane stuff like that.
