Popular stuff like Hazbin Hotel and Smiling Friends prove that adult animated comedies don’t have to look like they were made in fucking GoAnimate to be successful. Beanmouth is more than just mouth shapes anon, its stiffness, cheapness, and general unappealingness in general. Wander Over Yonder has a soft artstyle with bean shaped mouths but it’s far from being a beanmouth show cause it manages to have unique-looking character designs and tons of fluid, expressive, and full-of-life animation, compared it to some stiff ass garbage beanmouth show like Stugo, it doesn’t compare. In fact the problem with most modern cartoons isn’t just "beanmouth", but the fact that many of them look incredibly cheap and stiff in general, all those generic ass adult animated sitcoms are just as bad if not worse than beanmouth and so is stiff garbage like Kiff and Hailey’s On It.

Why spend more money on more technical animation when almost no one will appreciate it and it won't actually guarantee you viewership over slapping together stiff rigs of boring characters?
