Everyone always uses Demon Slayer as the example of manga eclipsing western comics, but pick any random funny boobs manga and it's probably also outselling them. Why don't western slop peddlers just give audiences what they want and maybe they wouldn't be getting paid scale.

This. If the Japanese were as stingy as Americans they'd have to gays and feminists too. When was the last time you went out and bought a porno mag, OP?

You picked a bad image, and I hope this thread doesn't get deleted, but it's something I've noticed and it really bothers me. I actually read h-manga because the art is great sometimes. I despise badly-drawn comics, even badly-drawn porn. Art doesn't always need to be pretty, but it should be good in some way.
I would like non-coom comics to have that level of passion that even h-manga have.

seeing a prolific pervert suddenly get serialized and get an anime adaptation was something to behold. from monkey rape and guro to being purified or baptized even, by vanilla

Explicit art is how a lot of artists get their start, and it's a great way to develop a style or even try out new styles.
Plus, there's a lot more overlap over there between porn art and SFW art, without artists having to completely scrub all their NSFW stuff if they want to "go legit."
A good example being Ajin's artist, who's kind of flipped back and forth between his porn and his serialized work.

It really can't be overstated how much of a struggle it is to appeal to people like this because they just don't actually support your works with purchases
I'm actually convinced that they unironically think making 4chan posts mystically generates credits for artists and companies

Part of it is a cultural thing. Look at how often people feel the need to specify that something is done "unironically" and you get a sense of what happened. Sincerity became laughable, so more effort is put into hiding effort than it is to embracing passion.

Do American comic publishers even make cheesecake stuff like the OP to sell to horny people? Closest I can think of is stuff like Vampirella and some of the other stuff Zenescope publishes, but those don't really get nearly as risque as some of the manga you can find in your local B&N.
