the "two years until we're fucked" thing ruined usm and ultimates, any time there's something happening they have to rush it just to stick to that deadline. black panther might as well have been in 616 for how little changed, uxm should have been it's own line, and wolverine is just boring so far.

It's all just more of the same. Nothing different substance and style-wise from the mainline shit. That and the timeskips killed it completely.

There is no unifying theme. Every Absolute book has the 'heroes but without all the initial advantages' thing going on.
Ultimate, in theory has the whole 'Maker messed everything up' but you can't really feel it sometimes. Ult. Spider-Man barely deals with the Maker. Ultimates should deal with him and his council, but the book is more concerned with grassroot heroism. X-Men could be happening in literally any other alt. universe. And so on.
Also, Ultimate Incursion was such a misstep.

Absolute is also a lot weirder in general. 6160 being similar to 616 is even referenced in Ultimates. The character dynamics are different, but none of them are radical departures from the originals.
