OK i am back, as i was trying to say, her whole issue is the way she writes romance, mostly just toxic and obnoxious, but from the perspective of, no matter how much (or little) of a flawed the male lead is, is HE who goes trough hell and the worst humilliation rituals, while the female lead no matter how bad she is, the universe is ALWAYS on her side, this was the problem with Akane and Kagome, specially the former, and she kinda had a bit of a persecution complex, it was rumored that she might have been a closeted lesbian because she love to draw women in swimsuits and bikinis and got told by her editors that she was drawing a lot of sexy half naked ladies on what was meant to be a girls romance comedy, she didnt took it well and made it about ''men's world''
Her whole stick of the male lead gets humilliated and tormentes only worked for Ataru because he was a piece of shit sexpest pervert with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and even his original girlfriend hated him, (who she was gonna end up winning at the end then before the focus went to Lum anyways?), also people only liked Lum because sexy exotic girl in bikini, even tough she was just as unlikable as Ataru and also Crazy, however the formula DEFINITIVELY didnt worked in her later works, because none of the later male leads, as flawed as they were, were nearly as unlikable as Ataru, specially not Ranma who at worst is just a grumpy cocky jerk, and even so its only because of the garbage life he has and putting out with crazy phsychos and menharas and his shitty asshole father who is a coward conman.
