Universal Basic Guys is currently my favorite show on FOX. It feels new. Like a NEET fantasy show. "think of all the wacky adventures you could go on if you didn't have to work."

Last night's episode had an A plot of Mark and David adventuring to Colombia to find some coffee beans. While the B plot was Hank and Tammy running a cafe out of their garage.

It kind of feels like American Dad with all these wacky adventures. The show is really starting to grow on me. I definitely remember more about the recent episodes of this show than SImpsons or Bob's Burgers or Famiyl Guy.

At best it's a vehicle to explain why the main characters are not at work when they are on wacky adventure. Which is kind of an issue because a lot of people automatically assume it will be some leftist preachy piece of shit show about socialism, and never give it a chance.

The show really has little to do with Bernie Sanders or Andrew Yang style socialism and UBI.

It's more just a plot point that explains why Mark and Hank have so much free time and money and don't spend their time working.

Mark can get in all sorts of trouble, but doesn't have a boss to answer to. His friends are mostly his neighbors and not co-workers.

They could've come up with a less potentially alienating title than 'Universal Basic Guys,' at least. It's a mouthful, lacks any clever pun or wordplay, and just feels like yet another obstacle the show has to overcome in trying to convince audiences to try. The art style already leaves much to be desired even if I do appreciate how different it looks compared to most Bento Box productions.

Mark and Hank aren't supposed to be rich, they only get $3000 a month in their UBI check. Which is only $36,000 a year. They aren't supposed to be rich, they are still working class people who like football and chicken wings.

Most people watching FOX Animation Domination don't care that UBI and Automation are controversial. The people who watch FOX watch all kinds of trashy shit like Joe Millionaire and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.

So far this season is stronger than the first. Each episode is more dense, and just less boring overall. I didn't mind the first season, but this is actually a reasonable improvement on it.
The first three episodes have been unexpectedly strong, it was great having Stroker back to voice the Jersey Devil again in the first episode. And seeing them parody the Eastern Promises tattoo scene during the credits for that episode was fun and well done.
