It's amazing how common this is with modern creators, Toby Fox has also been doing this recently for a while because fans have been holding him accountable for his writing. Even funnier considering people like Zach and those around him do the exact same thing with other creators... and they also don't have wives or children. They have a platform and want to milk that shit for all its worth while they have it and pretend they're better than where they came from. ... Also, Zach doing this with his first literal big break is hilarious. Smiling Friends is still incredibly niche. Pointing a finger at your own audience when you aren't even some kind of "all audiences"-tier shit is also equally dumb. It's not going to get any bigger from this point forward, it's losing relevance by the day. The episode length and the wait between seasons aren't doing it any favors.
