This show made me understand that what made Regular Show funny wasn't the stoner jokes, but that they were stoner jokes levied at a kids demographic

If there's anything I've learned following cartoon show runners these past thirty odd years is that brilliant minds must be tempered with significant restrictions to allow true creativity to shine through. Almost every time when a creator gets carte blanche to do whatever they want it winds up as an incomprehensible boring mess, a ham fisted lecture, so masturbatory niche it only appeals to it's creator or all three at once.

Indeed, most of the best shit creatives have put out was under restrictions, yet they seem to not be able to grasp this notion when they vomit out a new show that barely leaves a mark
I still miss my wives after all this time. Still holding out hope the scripts/boards for the cancelled fourth season end up finding their way into the open.
The show probably would have been better if they made distinct anthro characters again. The human designs were reserved for background characters for good reason in Regular Show.

How many of these do we have at this point? The ones that come to mind are Bridgette, Amy from Futurama, Trixie from Fairly Oddparents, Heather from Total Drama Island, and I guess Tiffany from Daria.

That does seem to be true for most cases, yeah. I mean, it's cool to let show runners be creative and stuff, but I reckon they need to be moderately wrangled in the right direction, otherwise they start to add crazy or boring shit on their shows.

Conversely, Fixed comes back around to proving it right. Some of these "creative visionaries" need to be kept on a leash.
I was interested in seeing Bridgette's relationship with her sister develop. I thought the episode that revealed their rivalry was one of the best Bridgette episodes of the show.
>when that one newbie writer gets a chance to write an episode and decides to use it to soapbox
At least she didn't put in an OC character who was better than everyone else in the cast I suppose but this was still really out of place given the rest of the show never really touched on this kind of social stuff.

Me too, it was getting so good. I felt like Season 3 they understood what they were doing and where they were going and from there the next seasons would just get better and better;
