I feel like they're trying to sell me something.
>"New from Hasbro! Marvel™ Hero Origin Boxes™! Create your own hero! Then wave 2 would be Villain Origin Boxes™, so you can make an archnemesis for your hero. Wave 3 would be mook/monster boxes so that you'd have footsoldiers for your hero beat and for your villain to command. Wave 4 would be cosmic and occult characters for your stories. By wave 5 they would be out of ideas. They would make dinosaurs and dragons, and they would only to be found in latam thrift stores.

That's like saying that the Mandarin rings are a copy of the GL rings because they are... rings.
The Origin Boxes are probably a set up for a new batch of legacy characters to throw againts the wall hoping one of the sticks.
