I never got why artists always whine about "My art teacher shat on me for drawing in muh style." Like, yeah. No shit. Drawing is a skill that you are taking a class to learn how to do and the assignments are designed as specific exercises for that skill. You're not taking a class to be creative. You're taking a class on hoe to draw. You use drawing as a tool to express creativity, not as a conduit for it.
