I remember seeing the first episode of this series, it depicts the bear (russia stand in) as being unable to defend the forest creatures from the wolves any longer, so they had to do it themselves.
very fascinating piece, the authoritarian governments like soviet union, Nazi Germany and Italy under mussolini depicted their foot soldiers as stalwart and upright Men with a stern vigor while US training videos would depict the average grunt as a short dumpy guy. There's definite sophistication here. They have an upper class that's aware of western mentalities enough to know how to best work propaganda, but still runs the eastern mentality.
