Did the show not make it clear? They literally show a before and after of how their world used to be before Fionna blew the dandelion. It was an isolated city, not anymore, come on now.

Anon, they live there, it's not like they're gonna hop on a plane and visit Italy or something, that would make no sense.

They could, but that's not what the story is about, this is about Fionna and her immediate problems in The City she lives in.
Also, magic is clearly not like, a thing in Fionna's world, there's some remains from her adventure like Cake, but the whole point of the end of Season 1 was that she doesn't need to change the world into being magic again, specially since that could potentially just fuck up her world, Fionna isn't about to change the world again just because she's bored.
