If that show had come out a few years later it would have been bigger than anything it was the ultimate autistic deranged shipping my little ponyesque show ever. I think people don't remember how many holds up spork weirdos loved it and how it was random and this was back in the day of newgrounds when that was relevant. Now no one watches anything and there hasn't even been a good show for the last couple years just flashes in the pan. This is a double edged sword. If Invader Zim came out in 2011 or hell, even 2009, it probably would have been more successful, yes. But Zim laid a lot of the ground work for scene kids and internet fandom, in fact it's kind of ground zero for the "bring back this cancelled show we were all busy that year" culture. So if Invader Zim wouldn't have suffered from this fate than something else would have, like Teen Titans (2003) or even maybe The Last Airbender or later on, Gravity Falls. It had to happen to SOMETHING for fans to start organizing online. he real crime was it being on Nickelodeon. It would have fit right in with Cartoon Network among Billy & Mandy, Samurai Jack and Teen Titans. Probably would have gotten the full 3rd season and a bit more, too.
