They actually did, but men rarely ever wore their hair long and those who did typically weren't part of common polite society and so didn't have the curtain part
But it's a cartoony design so it's forgivable
What isn't however is it fUUUUUUGLY artstyle, holy fuck this looks like ass, it's close to being fine I see what it's going for, every detail on it's own looks decent but the whole style put together looks like someone only has a vague idea on how to draw each individual body part and is slapping them together rather than making them flow as a cohesive design

My reaction to the leaked concept art what Sir Pentious really looked like when he was alive was "There goes my theory of him being an army officer and Engineer during the Crimean War and the Indian Mutiny while making friends with or even being like, Harry Flashman (as seen in the image) and then after a brief time as a bare knuckle boxer when returning to England, he became the Inventor Extraordinaire he becane renowned for in both the Mortal World and The Underworld!"

Also, I still see Baxter being a former young German or Austro-Hungarian doctor that got called up during the First World War and served as a Medic on an armoured cruiser which then got sank by either a Torpedo or a Sea Mine.

I already knew he was going to become one of Vivzies' prestiged "pretty boys". I still like his OG design but this human one just screams off as a bit too plain and already dislike people fawning so much to it. Vivzies' humans are tipically borish and hardly stray from the usual "sexy man/sexy woman" schtick she'd probably got inspired off from an anime. He's almost 1:1 asides from height similar to friggin human Stolas which is yet another typical pretty boy, except Stolas is meant to be more aged up apparently.

The visual gag of him having gone to heaven and trying to kill himself there was hilarious.
