I couldn't even finish the movie, in fact I forgot that I stopped watching it halfway through
When they said "The unbeatable monster from before time wants our baby who is also an unbeatable monster, and is actively hiding its power level indicating it is itself malevolent, we refuse to give it over [reasonable, sort of] though we don't know what it is but also Reed is to blame for even considering the possibility of turning it over and everyone on earth is mad that they didn't hand over their baby to a monster"
Like, why should we believe Galactus at his word that he'll spare earth?
I mean I know why, because the movie is just TELLING us these things as facts but from the perspective the characters why would they just believe him?
Why would you just think the baby couldn't be used as a weapon against Galactus?
Galactus consumes planets, okay, but why do they need to be full of sentient beings?
Why does the fate of the earth and arguably the universe fall to these specific four people of not really that much power to decide?
The whole planet is kind of treated as babies, which could actually be clever if there's some theme that (like in My Hero Academia) life under the protection of a Superman-esque character means everyone is so soft and assume "The Fantastic Four will handle it, I don't need to think or worry" but the movie isn't that smart
I dunno maybe I missed something by not watching the rest of it, the characters were really unlikable at their personal grievances and history and beef get in the way when the Earth, and really the Universe, is at stake. Like they can't set aside their petty teenage bullshit to focus on a threat that endangers the whole planet?
Maybe I'll watch the rest of it tonight.
