The maid/heir pair are both fully on the passive side, and witch/sylph are fully on the active side. All the others are split between active and passive, but the gap begins to narrow as you progress.
Why? Because it's more fucked up that way, and it maximizes the blast radius when vaporizing countless volumes of fanon conjecture.
