At the very least the ending of the dual Annies arc could have been done with at least a bare minimum amount of story arc conclusion. He could have kept it going for as long as was fitting to draw out some kind of satisfying climax to a genuine conflict that benefited from their unique circumstances. Instead, no, it JUST. FUCKING. ENDED.
How is he so aggressively, actively BAD at this? He's not terrible at STARTING any of these plot threads or devices. He's not bad at character design, he's not bad at communicating a personality, he's not too shabby at world building even if there are a lot of gaps it would be nice to fill in, I'll even be so generous as to say he's not bad at setting up tension but he JUST CAN'T SEAL THE FUCKING DEAL and come up with any sort of genuine dramatic conflict, trial, and resolution. What he resolves every storyline with is not bad, is not even mediocre, it is literal anti-storytelling. I cannot fathom anyone ever possibly doing that this badly, and this consistently, by accident.
