I think Marge Simpson is the least sexy fictional character imaginable but Leela does things to me for some reason

No, just a good actor. To be a good voice actor, you need to actually have some control over your voice outside of normal inflections everyone can make.

Matt Groening's artstlye just natually makes it difficult to fap to his characters imo. Lela'd probably be sexy in any other artstlye.

On the contrary, I think Leela's design ONLY works in the Groening style. Any attempts I've seen from fans to try and depict her in a different style can never seem to make her one eye look appealing.

And I've noticed a lot that when she looks to the side like in your pic she just ends up looking like a normal person with big cartoonish eyes. Like if a person didn't already know she was a cyclops it'd be natural for them to assume that was just a side profile and you just couldn't see both eyes from that angle.

That's my issue with a lot of the name/celebrity VAs that Dreamworks and others are responsible for saddling animation with. Someone like Mark Hamill can clearly do a good job on a variety of roles, someone like Sagal isn't bad but she sounds like herself voicing a cartoon.

Groening's style will always have one core issue, the lack of chins. Leela's lipstick makes her feel like you have a better sense of where her mouth ends and her lips begin compared to most of his characters

The cyclops eyes doesn't work in every art style. The more realistic styles especially, she'll just look unnerving.

I think that's exactly what Matt Groening wanted. He got off to having Peg Bundy play the femme fatale in his new cartoon show

Still better than the Bob's Burgers artstyle. Even with a character like Marge Simpson you can still see a little protrusion where her chin should be. With Bob's Burgers they just put lines with no real chin to speak of.

And the eye is part of how he gets away with Leela not seeming like just a fan service character. She has a great body, big tits, nice ass, nice lips, etc. but the cyclops eye is how they subvert so you realize she's not just eye candy (even if the show does have blatant fan service and anons still jerk it to her).

Even a character like the main girl from Disenchantment got naked fan service scenes but she's still not the stereotypical depiction of an attractive girl. I mean look at her they practically gave her SpongeBob eyes and teeth plus a body that doesn't really compare to Leela's.
