So there's a lot of covers that are iconic are paid homage to many times over and over. That's well and good but I can't help but wonder when the last time we got a iconic cover was. Granted the stories themselves are in the same boat so that's probably why but it seems like things have been over fixated on references and nostalgia for far too long.

Amazing 100 doesn’t have an iconic cover, it’s fine for what it is but I wouldn’t put it anywhere near the 100 best comic covers of all time or even in the 100 best spidey covers of all time

I'd put it in the top 100 Spidey covers. 200 probably not, same with 600 and 800. 700 is kinda lazy so I don't know about that one either. It's a neat concept but eh. 100, 300, 400, and 500 are the best. No argument there.
I like the JMS covers for the first half and some of the Deodato ones. Moreso for nostalgia because a lot of 00's era Spider-Man scholastic books and other such books but also some of them are great poses.
And I think pic rel is a very underappreciated one with how plot-important it is to the mythos and for how the composition is good to me at least. Ditko's goblin cover with the bat glider's first appearance is also a great one. Webbing twisting like that and his dynamism for that time is great.
But Spectacular definitely in the 80's has the most kino covers out of all of them except maybe some sporadic ones in Amazing.
Anonymous No.151167655 [Report] >>151168092
>>151167570
Ah my mistake 17 is the first appearance of the bat glider. And cover appearance of it as well. I meant 23. That one's better. 17's Johnny blocking the web is awkward looking.
I also like a lot of the Clone Saga covers and JRJR covers before BND. Especially Lost Years, 80's ASM, and Peter Parker issue 75.

Not an excuse. Spidey-Cheeks would be cresting still in a pose like that. The man is caked up, bubbled out, with an ass for days. That cover, on the other hand, is a travesty.
