Nowadays Wonder Woman fans are far too anal to accept this casting.
They bitch about how Diana needs to be 7ft tall and built like Arnold Schwarzenegger because they're all gay.
Diana should look athletic, certainly. But she's magic. She doesn't need to literally be super buff. Part of her 'feminism' is being a strong heroine despite being a woman, making her look like a man defeats that whole purpose.
Also in the original comics from the 40s Diana was like 5"9 and occasionally insecure about being short for an Amazon.
That's a really cute trait which should be brought back.

Lynda carter is pure sex, and the TV show was the only good thing diana had for stories before the crisis ruined everything and DC erased her 90's stuff

I often come across old dudes on deviantart who are still obsessed with this Wonder Woman. It's kind of cute once you don't think about what the men would actually look and be like.

The first season was set during WWII because they were basing it on Golden Age Wonder Woman.
When the show was picked up by CBS (which wanted a “hot woman fights crime” show to compete with Charlie’s Angels) they changed the setting to the present day and replaced Steve Trevor with, I think, his son played by the same actor.
You’ll notice the two recent WW movies are loosely inspired by the two eras of the show.
>>151180664 >Harley Quinn has more movies and animated shows than Wonder Woman
WW is DC's biggest heroine and they treat her like she were the female Shazam

Batman '66 got the animated movie for the 50th anniversary
They willl probably be glazing Superman The Movie all year in 2028 and send a copy into space or something
Wonder Woman got a post on their social media pages a couple of hours ago
>>151175678 (OP) >50 years ago, Wonder Woman peaked
Indeed it did. I remember watching the first two seasons when it came out. I thought she was a close 2nd to Elizabeth Montgomery in terms of good looks. Man, did she age well.
>>151182293 >they treat her like she were the female Shazam
A bit inaccurate since Shazam has actually had a cartoon before.
Wonder Woman has been maltreated for two reasons: >During the years she was written by Kanigher (48-68) her book was shit so no one read it, leading DC to think she wasn't popular as a leading character
and >Sexism
As gay as it sounds, I think there's a lot of it at play for how WB ignored her for so many decades, and even still undersells her compared to other characters.

She's not a great actress, but she is likable and sincere and her smile is so infectious that the end of every episode is just a close-up of her smiling.
She completely sells that she believes in all this and that she's not doing a parody of the character (which worked in Batman, but the tone of this show is different), and you can believe she's a sort of demi-goddess getting used to the weirdness of humans.

he looks cool! A villain wearing a full face mask is always a good look, especially when also wearing a suit + tie >>151188327
is that Wonder Girl? I remember she was in a few episodes, and I also seem to remember that even though the actress wasn't as tall or skinny as Lynda Carter was, her breasts looked bigger
