I enjoyed it - it did play fast and loose regarding some aspects of Peanuts canon, like being in the same school/grade level as some characters that go to different schools or are younger, + being acknowledged by the little red haired girl which similarly to kicking the football isn’t supposed to happen, but it was a nice film.

It's too soft but I will say that I think they did a generally good job of writing new dialogue that was in the spirit of the comic strip. (The specials and musicals would mostly just take quotes directly from the comics and add some linking material; that's one reason the stories are sometimes wonky, because they are basically collages of comic quotes organized into a story.)

Spiderverse is overrated capeshit and I’m tired of how everyone acts like that film is what popularized stylized 3D animation. It’s this movie that deserves all the credit.

I don't appreciate the meta of a movie poster where the characters are at a movie theater. Been done before and I found it tacky. Sure, it's no secret that the Peanuts are a cultural icon that's permiated generations, but even after earning your position in the cultural zeitgeist it comes off a bit self-aggrandizing
The end credits should have been the classic Peanuts theme and not Megan fucking Trainor. This was such a shitty choice it's unreal and I'm seething about it to this day. Everything else was fine.
