No. Going by the classic Tatsunoko designs, anime Superman would be the classic costume without the trunk, a red belt and maybe a bit of decoration around the arms. No hexagons, no armors, no fluff.

I think Shuri's BP costume started the trend of accessorizing BP and had the same problem. It looked great with the short cape, asymmetric fur collar, long necklace, and loose belt, but then you'd have artists drown her in extraneous straps, long capes and fur, and textures everywhere. Accessories and textures are inversely proportional in effectiveness. Sleek, textureless, and minimalist costumes "pop" with accessories while detailed, highly textured costumes are muddled and look busy with accessories. If the artist wanted to make that shoulder-piece work everything else, the pouches, daggers, spear, claws, buckles, ribbing, studs, and straps, should have been omitted. The cape could stay, but they really need to stop using pale, desaturated browns with BP.

I understand that this isn't technically the character's costume, and that it hasn't completely disappeared. But, I feel that She-Hulk's hair should always be drawn with a lot of volume, because of how it adds to her silhouette. I understand if artists may want to tone down the curls or shorten them a little, but when it's drawn completely straight and flat, that's a no-go for me.
