Fine movies, but there aren't really iconic killers/monsters that everyone knows that come from them. The Purge is about common everymen, your neighbors, etc. doing bad shit. Final Destination is about the concept of death.

Yes. Trick 'r Treat was a fantastic movie and criminally underrated. I'm going to assume that had something to do with its troubled development/release cycle. There was a trailer for it on the 300 DVD (EARLY 2007) and the film itself didn't get a release outside of film festivals until 2009.

Krampus is probably the closest we got to a spiritual successor but lacking the anthology aspect made it feel really lacking. I loved how the stories criss-crossed one another and then came together at the end. Really well crafted Halloween film.
