Harras didn’t believe in endgames, his thing (because it worked with X-Men) was to plant mysteries or questions to tease the readers without knowing or caring what the solution would be, if any. That could be filled in later.

I was just rereading Nicieza's Thunderbolts which made him nearly genocide all superhumans, with the "out" that he was being mind-controlled to put his personal fantasies into practice.

It really seems a little extreme when he was originally just supposed to be this uptight bureaucrat type. Geoff Johns used him in his Avengers run but he's the only one I've seen who tried to de-villainize him.

Basically the opening arc of the current SM/W is about Peter learning that Logan may have potentially been behind the murder of Richard and Mary Parker by watching the camera footage inside the plane
HOWEVER, the footage is fully restored at the end of the arc to reveal that Logan was only on the plane because S.H.I.E.L.D. had called him to protect them from Finisher (which he fails to do)

They talk about stuff going down in Berlin and Logan brings up her pregnancy. Pretty sure its during the time they came back as LMDs.

>and why has it never come up again.
Lee ended up hating how the parents stuff was handled supposedly ordered a ban on anything involving them going forward. Its why they don't come up for decades after the chameleon stuff outside of finally getting their bodies back to confirm they were dead and I think even that was a ruse and retcon.

Probably some boomer logic that turned into a tradition, that you dont make it easier for people to not buy back issues

Marvel didn't exactly drop this approach after he was gone. We still periodically get shock status quo shifts that happened before new run on a book starts, and readers get strung along for a year or two no real plan for what happened, they'll figure it out as they go on, if at all.

At least back in the 90s they usually knew how to make the mysteries somewhat compelling, now they're just annoying mysteries about "a thing you like has been ruined, keep reading to find out why".

From here through to Identity Crisis, Shocker gets a good run of stories in this era of the book, and it possibly only happened because Mackie needed a new villain to latch onto as /his guy/ after the Hobgoblin he'd been using got killed off. The he latches onto Venom as a villain after the relaunch.

A What If story right? Yeah well I guess you have point there. I guess original Ultimate universe also counts because Nick Fury probably would've dragged Peter into SHIELD because his parents worked there. Even if Peter hadn't been bitten by the spider.

I don't think Untold Tales did any Zodiac stories, as that book was set years before the group actually appeared. Probably just a reference for the sake of it.
