They're also doing a Batman '95 which adapts elements of Triumphant
I'm hind of hoping one day they do a Batman '05 that expands the Nolanverse, even for the sole reason of having Clark Kent/Superman modeled after Guy Pearce

Wasted potential, Superman '78 was better.

Having re-watched the 89 to 96 movies, I was happy to read Batman '89 and Echoes. I kind of liked that universe. Shame that Burton had to edit Batman Returns for the worse (removed scenes: Penguins penguins rocket blasting the rich man ball, they showed ALL the kids getting kidnapped, and it didn't have the final shot of Catwoman on the rooftops in the ending).
Seeing a black Robin was funny. I have huge respect for the Wayans bros due to Scary Movie, he would've made a great Robin if he took the role seriously.

Haven't read 89 yet but I have all the issues + the covers are nice.

I'm not sure which of the Batman '89 sequels are and aren't canon.

Good to know Lawrence survived the clock tower
Also only Batman and Batman Returns are cannon in my mind

DC officially reconizes the Burtonverse as
>Batman (1989)
>Batman: Resurrection (novel)
>Batman: Revolution (novel)
>Batman Returns
>Batman '89
>Batman '89: Echoes

>Resurrection
>Revolution
Could they possibly not have thought of a less shitty name?

'89 was a surprisingly good observation low income inner city folks fighting for recognition and respect in a system built against them.

Echoes was like, three different stories crammed into one. We didn't need Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange AND Ra's Al Ghul.

Flash movie is considered an "inspired by" timeline, not the actual main Burtonverse.

Liked them. Hope we get The Flash '90 next. Then a cross-over with Batman.

Every fucking sequel, cameo or wink to the original burton movies is "le did you know he really le didnt le kill people, joker is le alive". Fuck that noise. Without the punisher like brutality its a different character than the burton one.

I have never read this shit comic book but i can bet 100% is like that. Countless cameos in the cwverse, comic book, series, whatever always the same shit. They change the character for the worse and ruin what it makes it unique. A no nonsense batman that kills and each particular problem is solved forever.

but that stuff is in the final movie?

Somebody dug up an old interview with him where he basically says he only took the job of writing the Batman movie because nobody else wanted it and that he thought the entire concept of Batman was completely stupid. The early drafts of Batman support this because Robert Whul's character was the actual protagonist and Bruce/Batman is treated more like a nuisance than having any credibility. Hamm's run on Detective comics is basically just Ducart being a character from 'the real world' shitting on the conventions of capeshit at every opportunity.

TL;DR Samm Hamm's interpretation is of Batman is a lot like Tom King.

I wasn't a fan of the first one
Was excited for the second one
Loved a lot of the art for it
But wow, the story found new ways of not following through with storylines and the last issue was a complete mess
Anonymous No.151209460 [Report]
The first one was just too stiff and I stopped reading it. The sequel seemed promising but I never got around to finishing it either.
>>151202239
Agreed. I know Sam wrote a few comics at some point before this but it really showed in the first series that his expertise lies in other mediums. It's nice to see people from the original production attached to the book but if you're going to make a sequel to a movie or show in comic form make sure you have someone who really knows how to write comics on board as well.
Anonymous No.151209534 [Report]
He can't pace a comic worth shit. Both have absolutely terribly pacing. The first Batman film was only good because of script doctoring, he's not a very good writer.

It's kind of funny how Revolution and Echoes introduced two very different versions of Riddler. One of them modeled after Robin Williams, the other after Martin Short.
