There is literally no problem with this. He has no obligation to womankeep her trauma dumping emotional labor.

This may may have been deeply skeptical of feminism for quite a long time:
-Diane can't choose between two contradictory strains of feminist thought about sex, showing no ability to judge for herself and make a decisions (the first episode!)
-Princess Carolyn devotes herself to her career but it only leaves her lonely and unhappy; seeking marriage and motherhood without compromising on career fails
-Penny's choices as a legal-age adult woman are stupid and childish and has to be scolded by her mother (who abandoned LA career to go home and ultimately get married; her devotion to her family is what causes her to reject and then hate Bojack)
-OP (saying men should "manage" their wives)
-Diane tries to do something "important" by going to te war-torn country to do a story on a man doing charity work there, but can't take how horrible it is and runs away
-Diane ruins her first marriage by being unable to accept gifts from her husband; after the divorce she's miserable until becoming the lover of a man who "manages" her
All that goes to shit when the show gets MeToo brainrot and gives Princess Carolyn a too-convenient ending, and that also overlooks things like “killing babies is much babies”

Who the fuck cares about this garbage series or cartoon traumadumping or whatnot? Whatever happened to making cartoons embrace the fact that they’re animated and making themself distinct from live action rather than just being "normal words but a horse guy"? This can’t even be counted as stretching the medium of animation cause this show looks like cheap rigged dogshit, sure there have been animated drama films like Mary & Max and When the Wind Blows but those films actually put fucking effort into their visuals, showcasing a great display of writing talent as well as animated talent. This show was clearly not made by animator and clearly has no reason to be animated since there’s no visual talent to be showcased. It’s a disrespect to animation as a medium and you guys are all Redditbrained retards for watching it

This post is just normal words but an anon guy
Am I missing something from the context? Why is it a man's responsibility to manage a woman's emotions? Isn't that something she should be able to do herself?

No, all women are hypocrites you see, about literally everything. They never intended the same rules to apply to them. The genders are different afterall.

The full context is that his wife became a depressed alcoholic after their son died in WW2, so his response was to have her lobotomized to the point that she spent the rest of her life as not much more than a vegetable. It was the style at the time.

I think this show was okay overall but I could very easily tell which parts were written by a woman.

>later season bojak writing
In the later seasons the show’s once-supple writing curdles into sermonizing, diagramming its “insights” with a felt-tip marker; the nadir is Todd’s asexual homilies, where therapy-speak poses as drama and wit goes to die.
