What's needed is for the dual character to go somewhere. Expies dont have to be a bad thing. I can see some interesting ways this character can go even without a plot heavy motivation. (with the sd boys for instance, even ignoring the shitposts)

Finished reading "I'm Good I'm Gone" and it's very neat. Sordid definitely, but the art is gorgeous. It really does mog the vast majority of other fanventures. Honestly I don't see where the story has to go.
It is a comedy tho so wwhatever to that. I find myself feeling empty inside after reading it. But that's definitely a broader personal thing. It's an interesting absurdity and its cool to see the alternian military.

Everyone talks about how the Trolls sidelined the kid's adventure but honestly the most brutally shafted characters of all were the Carapacians. The degree to which they were rendered irrelevant in act 5 but especially in act 6 is really apparent when you read straight from the beginning.

They were already fairly marginal characters who were mainly relevant in relation to the session they were generated for, which was scratched after Act 5. And worse is by the end of the series and in HS2/Beyond Canon, his belief of democracy that Dave and Karkat oh so much believed in, gets overthrown to have KINGDOMS on Earth C, something that WV had started a revolution to not be a part of anymore. A bonus story was even going to make a justification of why democracy didn't work out and that pisses me off.

Like you said, we didnt need WV dialogue boxes, just have the character talk about having had conversations with him. Instead they heavily imply he *cant* speak (that weird dialogue about him making gestures to communicate with karkat) even though we know carapatians physically can speak. And yeah the Earth C kingdoms thing is fucking ridiculous. I guess the epilogues walk it back by having a president, and the credits crowns are just for show, but ending the story on a note antithetical to the guy who founded the society is just ridiculous and shows how burnt out hussie was by the end.

Hussie could have simply made that every time a player interacts with WV, no dialogue boxes would be used for the scene. Narrating the character's thoughts isn't something exclusive to the exiles.
WV being retconed into a mute feels more like a convenient excuse for Hussie to not write him for some reason. Characters like CD and DD did not get such treatment in act 6, so why was WV singled out?

Scenarios I can see happening to WV that isn't him being a pet is him actually being more concerned about Terezi's abuse from Gamze or Rose's alcoholism since Kanaya, Dave, and Karkat do fuck all when that happened. He tries to do something, but can't because things like Gamzee and Rose having powers that could kill him if he tries to push them too far. Maybe have him go about trying to reach out to other trolls in Dream Bubbles since where the fuck was he during Openbound? Could he have stopped someone like Kurloz? Interact with the dead trolls like Equius, Nepeta, Feferi, or Eridan about what's going on? Maybe have him being sent to Alpha Session for some reason, specifically be with Roxy to help calm down and guide the Dersite Carapaces there. Just anything that isn't him being pushed to the side.

As of right now I have no plan to change mallums section. This is more just a proof of concept for the time being. Although, Id be lying if I haven't thought of doing it, and I've made this quite apparent in the discord server.

Sadly my greatest weakness is my inability to accept the past mistakes made in artwork and I want to rework it. But at this time I won't. That also being said; since a lot of my files got deleted during the great wipe of '24 stuff like mallums room and other areas are long gone, so I'm remaking them for future panels. And because of this it crosses my mind that I should redo the beginning just for consistency sake. So really, is just to keep everything visually consistent, which is why I'm redoing the Korpus section.
