It's a classic webcomic problem and what led us to get the greatest meme in history (Loss). You start out doing a funny slapstick/gag comic sometimes centered around your fetishes and then you get better at drawing and start having ideas that it would improve if it had Plot and Drama to it. The "It's Walky" syndrome where eventually the whole thing just collapses under its own weight and the artist closes it down and replaces it with something closer to the original premise. Not that Walky is any kind of role model mind you, more like a cautionary example.

Anyway while Mega seems like a genuinely nice person the problem is that Bodysuit23 is so insanely boring and uninteresting now that there's no point checking in for new updates anymore. I come back and check every few months but so far I've been disappointed every time. The only thing that even offers skinsuit content anymore is the patreon stuff and commissions which is a raw deal for a comic that launched purely on the premise of bodysuits. I understand MZone is embracing their transness and all that but goddamn the comic just lost its entire vitality. Even the art is getting less like a 90s anime knock-off which was its entire charm. I guess the comic can keep coasting along on an extremely devoted core of supporters like many other deprecated webcomics (Prequel springs to mind).

It sucks because a few years ago I was always recommending Bodysuit23 as a great example of how to do a skinsuit-themed comic but now I can't do that at all anymore and it doesn't seem like MZone even understands there is a problem so its unlikely to be improved. At least we got several good years out of it.

I think he understands the problem but he has stubbornly decided to make his comic about skinsuits to not be about skinsuits. It's a bafflingly illogical move but nothing we can do about it. If I was him I would have just started a new comic about having snowball fights against children. Creating something based on X and then later turning it into not-X is the easiest way to let your fans down, but MZ just can't get this through into his thick skull or he does not care ("it's my comic so I can do whatever I want with it").
People liked his skinsuit comic because it had skinsuits, but now it has only wacky action sequences and he's more or less confused why people don't like it anymore as if all this came as a surprise. Should this backlash not be obvious? MZ legit can't even be considered a skinsuit artist anymore.

Would the skin need to be tanned? For me, part of the appeal of skinsuits is convincingly pretending to be someone else. If their appearance suddenly changes, that might raise suspicions. Although, I like the idea of creating a false identity, which would make whether or not to tan them a purely aesthetic choice.

Storage depends on the living situation:
- If I'm living alone, then I keep the suit on a mannequin in a locked room, which is not on ground level, when I'm not wearing it.
- If I'm not living alone, then the suit only comes off when I'm alone in a locked bedroom. I clean it and keep it flat on the bed next to me while I sleep.
- If I'm not living alone and my roommate/SO/whatever knows about my dual identity, then anything goes.

I assume it would have to, otherwise it will quickly degrade. Moisture will leave the outer layer causing it to shrivel and wrinkle while sweat and oils left by your skin will make it rot.
Ultimately it is a question of whether you want to wear a decomposing corpse or do you want to make it into a fashionable piece of clothing. After tanning you could just airbrush it with correct paints to give it back the natural look or make it any colour you want really.
And later put makeup on it to get it just right.
After the skin is tanned you could go haywire with it. Just decorate it with studs and maybe snap fasteners so you could attach stuff to it.

Jeekay8888 was one of the artists I would always browse back in the old days in deviantart. Camula's charm, Twined and Mariko story are prob my favorites of his artworks. Its sad that ever since his last work of Twined, we never hear from him again.

Some people pay, some people don't. Numerous studies have shown that pirates are people who would have never paid for the things they pirate no matter what, they act based on opportunity. Just look at Steam where publishers sell games for local equivalents of pennies in third world countries just to recoup costs because everyone pirates over there. You might as well take it in stride as free promotion, I've supported artists I would have never found if their content wasn't leaked.

Another aspect of it is how the artist reacts to when there stuff is leaked. Some just write heartfelt messages asking their supporters not to leak content, others engage in full blown arms races with leakers trying to craft more complex systems to prevent people from leaking their content. And as someone who has supported dozens of artists on Fanbox/Patreon nothing is more frustrating then jumping through half-a dozen steps to view 20mB of porn.

Lastly Faltain and others like him seemed like massive asshats by trying to shill/gatekeep their mediocre stuff here and kemono only to sperg out when someone uploads it. I bet some leakers didn't even care about his stuff but only wanted to spite him.

So I've gone over AI smoothing, GIMP, and here's another quick(ish) and easy avenue to make some content: editing flash games with JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler. Mileage varies heavily, but you'd be surprised how easy mirroring a dick and deleting the dude is anons. You might just need to smooth over a few rough edges that were hidden afterwards. Bonus points if you know how to draw here. Just know that the decompiling process probably will break a thing or two. Don't go posting .SWF files just send GIFs, if you know you know.

For GIMP just use the warp and move pixel tools on a zipper.png, and just run over it with a low opacity airbrush with black or dark brown. It's not rocket science.

If we're in a dry spell anons the least you can do is homebrew some shit to tie yourself over until the heavy hitters finish.

What prompts do you guys use to create skinsuit in text-to-image AI's? I'very been trying "as a wearable skin seen from 3/4 back view, zipper track seamline on her back skin extended to her neck to be covered up by her hair, zipper slider on the seamline" but it works only like once in 7~9 tries. And that's the chance when the character is fully naked and the chance further halves when you make them hand clothed. (And we aren't even talking about the sex scenes yet...)

"(character name) with visible seamline around her neck between chin and throat" works slightly better (1 in 3 times) if you want something like a body-only skinsuit. Still it somehow just won't let you have seamlines on the waist or arms too.

And that's Novelai. GPT actually understands your demand quite well but it very often just refuses to do so cuz identity theft goes against its ethics or something. Any tried creating skinsuit stuffs with Stablediffusion? Is it better?

Rain on Pixiv has a lora you might wanna grab from Civitai sometime and try out. It functions significantly better when used for anime/cartoon style images. I have gotten it to work with realistic looking people too if that's something you wanna do. Prompt engineering on the other hand is gonna depend on what else you're trying to do. Most Lora for example run counter to almost any skinsuit prompt you input since they have built-in fixes for what is considered "bad anatomy".

There's also an img2img skinsuit lora on Civitai too that I've gotten significant mileage out of.

If you want to get into SD try ComfyUI for a more streamlined experience. I just use the webui personally and it works great while being of course free. Generation time heavily relies on your GPU.
