That's what makes up a lot of it, but there is usually a bit more to it. I guess the biggest differences are that
1- the hypnosis isn't a targeted thing for one person. Instead of changing one person's mind, it's changing EVERY PERSON's mind about that person. So the scope and the effects are really different.

2- there's usually some aspect of either historical revision - where the past is changed to fit the new reality - or in the absence of that revision, there are logical or even physical gaps in reality that now no longer make sense and are handwaved by everyone and reality.

regarding turning it into game, the issue is in three parts.
One is to have some unified idea whcih fetishes will and will not be included.
Second is the simulation itself the interaction between "people" and the statistic of the world.
Third is presentation, full on 3D depiction of every interaction and fetish would be too consuming IMO. Simplest way is "nuber goes up" text representation, which is not very engaging, but it's easy to implement.

The first thing that comes to mind is a branching path visual novel, with pre-written dialogue for the different combination of changes you can make.
With how much this concept relies on changing character dynamics, I'm not sure you can do it any other way. There's no interaction of game systems that can scratch that itch, it has to be a pre-written storyline.

A fantasy game involving time travel. The villain gains access to a time travel artifact and starts changing history, and you as the hero need to travel back to fix (or make worse) the parts of history that have been changed. You get transformed in different ways if your history gets changed, and if you don't fix all of the issues with history before going back to the present then you get a different ending.

Like for example the main villain arranges for (or is) a futa succubus to fuck your mom, and now you're a succubus yourself. Or goblins that were previously easily repelled early in your home kingdom's existence conquer you and now in present day you're a shortstack goblin prostitute in a goblin kingdom instead of a hero in a human one. You can also solve puzzles by travelling further back in time and making a change then going back to whatever period of history you're currently aiming to interact with.

...Obviously this would be an insane amount of work overall factoring in all the ways you could change history but hey my dream reality warping game doesnt exactly have to be realistic.

I have an interesting idea that'd be rather ambitious and might not work in practice so bare with me on this:

Why would the 0 deaths ending be the bad one? Maybe if you die in the final boss after the Point Of No Return, you would get the bad ending, but a *pure* no death run? Have that be the unlock condition for manually setting the difficulty. Something something seizing control of your own destiny.

The only game I can think of that gave you the bad ending for a No-Deaths Run was an arcade token-eater than assumed this feat was literally impossible without cheating.

I got way too autistic and started writing an immense proposal, but tldr might be: guy wakes up in a world where realities are colliding so that his childhood friend is a mild, his female classmate is now a submissive maid and his landlord is now a cat girl (or any other set of transformation)

The game is a final fantasy tactics style rpg where you can job change your party into all sort of fun archetypes. Their dominant personality remain as milf/maid/cat girl so that it's not too hard to write.

There would be sidequests about using your reality warp for shenanigans or to try to help people.

The story tone would be a bit like a sex comedy, but there would also be heartfelt moments; for exemple the maid might not want to go back to her previous stressed out life. At the end of the game depending on how corrupt your main character was and how many people you warped you'd get different endings, fallout style.

Maybe toss in one or two sex minigames, for exemple you can sleep with a npc that's been turned into a dominant muscle woman to unlock that class for your party members.

I'd spend most of the budget on art for sprites so that each of the party member can model different transformations (the milf and the maid might wear the bunny girl class differently for exemple)

I had an idea for an isekai TTRPG campaign where the party a group of spec-ops dudes that went to investigate the disappearance of a scientific expedition through a portal. The party would find themselves in new bodies that reflected their role in the squad (Medic=Healer, Heavy Weapons=Barbarian, etc). As for races and sexes post-isekai, that would've been up to the players.

If I were to revisit the idea, I'd make it a VN where the MC wakes up alone in the middle of nowhere with most of their memories wiped. All they remember is that they're not native to the world, and that they were with a squad of people. The story would be them searching for their old squad and the scientists they were looking for, who all would act like picrel.
