All fetishes are typically mutations of the loss and/or gaining of control, usually with a modifier affecting the outcome.
This is most obvious in the rather rote "bdsm" category, which I do not feel like I need to explain futher. I will now describe a more common "strange" fetish, feeder/feedee.
Consider for a moment that the act of eating is pleasurable. We wouldn't do it if it wasn't, and ceetainly couldnt get addicted to it if that weren't the case. But because it is naturally pleasurable, the type of this fetishbalways highlight the lack of control on the part of the feedee; somebody is feeding them or they literally cannot control themselves. Lost in a perpetually lustful miasma of reacting in literal reality to an impersonal urge.
Further, to the feeder, it is their control of the feedee that turns them on. Not complex stuff.
Consider, also, any body modification as a fetish. When you first become sexually mature, your body is literally distorting and changing as you exist inside of it. A process that is otside of your control. This can cut both ways, as the need for control of your own body or the need for control over the body of another. Lustful indulgence of the change, outside of somebody's control.
This also crops up in things like asphyxiation, wherein the being being choked's life is literally controlled by another. The other literally controlling it.
Any rape fantasy will also deal with these concepts, but that, again, is rather rote.
As for explosions and their impending peril, I don't think I need to explain much further how this, like all other fetishes, merely a loss of control on the part of the explodee, and a taking of control by the bomber.
