I'm no doubt thinking I'll need insane seed luck for the outfit (or lora), but is there any chance you think of getting the pose/perspective close to the image I'm using as an example?
I was thinking I might have to sketch it in. Forge coupling feels like its only taking me so far, and I'm not sure if openpose would make much of a difference.

I did also try doing forge couple with a controlnet on the original image, couldn't get couple to play nice adding 2 characters even on a low weight for the controlnet.

In general you can also try to eliminate as many quality tags and negs as possible in your prompt, that also helps to get away from a generic look. Also some models and artist tags allow you to go pretty high on the weight. Don't shy away from going crazy, I sometimes use specific tags at (:1.4) or even (:1.6) lol

I couldn't help myself and got easy lora scripts installed, so I can give it a go to train some v-pred loras. But I ran into a few issues lol Biggest one was that I needed a newer python version that was unsupported by the autotagger UI that I liked to use. I made do with some janky comfyui workflow but I wanted to ask how you tag your images? So far it worked for me but it's not ideal since I can only use one tagging model. HWtagger that I used would use a few models and prune the less releavant tags automatically. That said, I'm kinda suprised how well things worked for me. I got a few styles baked already.

If anyone likes I'd love to hear your feedback on this hayashibara hikari style. But fyi, it's a heavy loli style and also merged so the baseline strength is still 0.4. Picrel used that lora. You can find it in my rentry.

Yeah I'm still playing around with other style loras but I liked that style because it's a very 'simple' flat look with retro vibes. It's hard to 100% replicate the look of the reference art but that's fine lol Atm I'm struggling to decide if tamaya is a good style...It renders amazingly puffy tits and nips, but the general body proportions are a little too lanky in picrel lmao. Positive:
I like freckles.
You're trying to do some cool stuff with the lighting, and it mostly works.
Negatives:
Looking really western-styled, which can be a no-no on /d/ (only really an issue if someone flags it to a jannie).
I don't care for the excessive skinshine - particularly around the waist it makes it look like her skin is latex, and the bright spot on the face is also out of place - her forearms are probably the spot I feel like the lighting was working best.
Tips:
Aside from just changing artist tags, there's a whole lot of artstyle tags out there that can really affect things. I'm the resident fan of 'art nouveau' here, but I'll also pull in things like 'flat color', 'no lineart' or 'lineless', 'anime coloring'.
I leverage the tag wikis very frequently (I'm on a noob model, so e621 and danbooru).
Go to the danbooru's Image Composition tag group page and just scroll around - you'll see tons of things that can all be used to change the look and feel of a gen.

Yup, at least the one I use has numbers next to your prompt when typing. It'll bring up a short drop down menu and in that menu it'll have the number of times it's used/found, and sometimes with a star though I'm not entirely sure what the star is supposed to represent.

The only issue I've run into using the auto complete is how it's tagged in the database, if you start typing large it'll never bring up areola . But if you start typing areola first, large areola will be the first option to pick from.

As for context or how a tag is supposed to be used you'll still need the booru for reference, also a lot of times less used tags or multiple word tags don't get pulled up in favor of more commonly used ones, so you'll still need the booru to research potential tags. But i can honestly say having the auto complete extension is just better than not, and often times it can even suggest tags you didn't even know existed.

I appreciate your confidence and implication that I'm actively working towards things like that, but I'm mostly going with my gut on how things look overall instead of trying to do something specific. I feel like my prompts are relatively simple and to be quite honest, the extent of my lighting prompts in that pic are - dark bedroom, purple lighting, dim light, high contrast. And I don't think I ended up doing any inpainting on it either. Yeah, some of that might be just coming from your model. A lot of models associate detailed lighting on skin with their positive quality tags, so anybody using the recommended prompt structure gets that shiny-skin "AI look".

You don't have to go out and learn how to paint, but understanding real art and artist techniques is how you can see and think like an artist. It'll definitely help you see things like inconsistent lighting or perspective, expose you to more styles to leverage, etc.

Civitai once blocked me a prompt with Marin Kitagawa for using a real person. I tried taking out her name and the prompt passed without problem.

But there can be worse. This just in from r/civitai:

I'd rec. looking on boorus for artists with at least 100 images related to them, then trying those with 1girl with a batch size of like 8 to see how much it effects the results compared to just 1girl without the artist.

Even if you don't like an artists style, sometimes an artist with a bad style can actually improve the outputs of certain models just due to some tiny thing they learned about that artist during training. Ie. it may have captured the way they do eyelashes but not how insanely low resolution their art is.
