Oh, that does sound like the perfect scenario for this sort of thing. Imagine their final moments after being thrown, trying desperately to go against what their body was designed to do. Wishing with all their might that the pokemon will break free. Their round body jostles once, twice, for the third and then "CLICK" the pokemon and their conscious mind are both locked away inside the pokeball.
