Chio's character makes the most sense if you're aware of the preview build in a broad kinda way, I think, but I don't think the story benefits from overexplaining. We didn't need Disney's 'Solo' to explain Han's name, we don't need Saeko to explain why Chio says attacking the supervisor invites a fate worse than vore or why Akari/Clara's rebellion caused a near year of constant torture reducing one's personality to blood pudding. It's, just, obvious.

I've had both good and bad luck with JP artists over the years. I've gotten 1 or 2+ comms from all of the big names that offer things like skeb or pixiv requests. End results may vary, but I like the mid sized (heh) artists outputs more. Sometimes it will take a few months but oh well.
