Just moved into my new place. Previously renters where fucking animals and managed to clog everything. Cleaned the bathroom sink. Cleaned the kitchen sink but those old drain pipes where leaking everywhere so went and bought a new set. But now the new set is also leaking slightly. Am i retarded? This isn't my first time doing this. Do you guys have any tips or I just go and buy another one.

In my experience, those fittings hae to be aligned as straight as possible before tightening to get gaskets to seal. Loosen everything, rotate and shift fittings until they are all straight, then tighten. Hand tight should be good enough. Start pulling with a wrench and everything goes crooked again.

I think I just got a dud. Bought a new one because they are cheap enough and everything seems to be fine. Guess I didn't get lucky the first time.

You're literally paying for the landlord to deal with this shit. It's great that you want to /diy/ but save that for when it's actually your responsibility, unless you got a month free for defucking the place.

Also someone needs to get rid of that flex tube shit and plumb it right; that stuff does nothing but hold funk and clog.

I guess you are right. I am just used to fixing(or atleast trying to) things myself. Always helped the old man around the house and always had tools on hand at home. This is my first time actually having a place that's not a dorm room so I wasn't sure if I should call the landlord for that. It started as just unclogging the drain since the dishwasher didn't drain properly but the old pipes where held together with Teflon tape so I just decided to buy new.

In pic the dish washer drain hose needs to be higher than the disposal or the disposal will flow back into the dishwasher hose. Attach it to the top of inside the cabinet, with drilled hooks, duct tape, or zip ties.

>move into new rental
>previous tennants ensured all drains are clogged
>hallway carpet gets soaked whenever the shower is used
>can't use any of the sinks
>complain to landlord
>landlord takes their sweet ass time and argues with you
>unable to bathe or shit until the landlord hires the cheapest possible mexicans to use the cheapest possible parts to half-ass a job I could do myself in 20 minutes

Moral of the story, don't rent
