Since buying an RV camper
Time of the year is impossible (they all sell same or next day)
I figure i will just setup a tent and canopys in my friends backyard

So i will probabaly buy a mosquito type canopy net
But i am thinking of standing up some 2x4s and then running cables to stakes so they can then stretch a tarp over top to be a giant rain shelter

Or maybe I will frame some sort of gable roof with some minimal structure and then tightly stretch a tarp over it

Let me know any other ideas or what I should do to improve this idea

Maybe just buying 2 canopys that also have bug screen is a better idea .i want an outdoor kitchen, and also a spot to have a desk to work on my laptop and maybe a couch and tv to jerkoff on you know what im sayin.

Maybe the best idea is to sink a couple 4x4 posts in the ground and then run a 2x4 to connect them, like it will be the ridge of the gable
And then run tarps right to the ground... or to 4 foot tall posts... and it should all be able to be pulled tight and staked

4x4 with a 2x4 ridge line is doable, rope ridgeline is more common for temporary structures. look to telephone poles they use tension lines in multiple directions like circus tents, as far as the cover goes heading down to the ground waste space but i would do it too although three tarps not one big one so you're shingling with tarps should increase air flow and moisture control.
Bedouins are masters at tent erection for high heat.
