>home depot
They happened. The same way corner shops/stores get killed by supermarkets and give them full control over local prices. If there is not a good carpenter near you you will have to do it yourself so I recommend you buying the wood and materials needed at home depot (:D) and learn from any youtube tutorial.

bump i do not think it will get better, there is a global monopoly building on doors by some ccp back company, they have a drive through warehouse for you to choose your door, its like a zoo.

Lots of people giving away doors for free. I would just make it if it was that important. Either a torsion box or it's a built up solid core with a skin.

I saw those doors at Home Depot and choked. Seriously, if there is a Restore (Habitat for Humanity) around you, check there. They have a large supply of miscellaneous doors donated by remodelers. You may have to check back a couple of times to get the size and handedness you want but it will eventually show up. I got a 36" interior with hinges for $5 and then a frame kit from Home Depot for about $30.

This one. Get the cheapest slab and mortise the hinges yourself. Otherwise, you need to dutchman and patch the hollowcore door you kicked like a sped.

1”x2”x9’ pine at €6, get two
4’x8’x1/8” MDF sheet at €6, get two
1000 tacks at €4
Some glue and screws
Stack of old newspapers (or rockwool scraps or hay or clothes scraps or whatever filling) free

Build inner frame with cross braces from pine
Glue + tack sheet to one side
Fill
Glue + tack sheet to other side
Coat royally in primer then paint

> I don’t have (tool xyz)
Cheap cross cut saw, tacker, screwdriver

> why fill it
It’ll sound less hollow when you close it and add some mass

It is rail and stile, but a torsion box instead of panels because to make it stiffer with cheap material

I thought euros used the metric system. Is there an exception for lumber?

Fill it with sand so it's heavy like a real door too.
