Hello id like to weld two batteries and increase their voltage. I tried welding positive to positive and the voltage remained the same then i tried positive to negative and they heat up and even caught on fire a bit.

More cells positive to negative = mas voltage = better fire

don't fuck around with lithium cells.

i couldnt find anything for spot welding in series without the batteries draining and catching on fire though.

why are you playing around with this if you don't know how electronics work at all
or this is probably just bait

yeah, I shouldn't have posted under my name. This is embarrassing. But its not acting like its supposed to you know. I just welded them in series just now and the voltage still read 3.8 volts.

you're doing it wrong, you're just short circuiting the cell(s).

i cant take a picture of the voltmeter with one hand but see theyre in series yet it reads 3.8v
i measured it before i welded them too.

what's even your goal here
this is just really basic stuff and calls into question how safely you can do whatever your goal is
>>2921679
you only connect one positive to the negative of the other and leave the other two terminals disconnected (or connected to your load), shorting them is just going to kill your batteries same as shorting positive to negative of a single cell would

Programming is my main thing desu. With robotics also you most use modules instead of custom electronics so its easy to forget. Just have to be on your p's and q's about the mechanics.
i also intend to go over linear algebra because its used a lot and i should learn the robotics stack you know ros, nvidia issac, etc...

i might need to go electronics again if i want to add say touch sensitive sensors and stuff though...

you're lucky the CID popped on one cell, you quite literally made a housefire.
don't even try anything else till you know some basic electrical skills and how to manage bare cells and packs.
makes me wonder how you were planning on charging it now

Look at the image and understand that the red wire doesn't connect to the black wire.

feeling pretty confident about the batteries rn got the buckdown converter to output 6 volts from 7.4 volts too. Had to turn the little screw like 10 times.

I really hope not on both sides. Also, there's more to check than just the raw voltage, anon.
As a rule for myself, those batteries are only married by the electrician priest. You don't connect them (series or parallel) once they're apart.

Fortunately he bought the worst batteries on the market and dead shorting them did nothing because they immediately lost all charge.
